Kamal Haasan thought that Shankar might drop the project altogether. But to his surprise, Shankar moved forward with Rajinikanth, leading to the film's immense success.

"Enthiran" showcased the unique pairing of Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai. It was the first time Aishwarya Rai was paired with Rajinikanth. The film's plot revolved around Dr. Vaseegaran creating a robot, Chitti, which later turns against him.
